Aksi Asri Kreasi
Our initiative through strengthening waste banks and educating community by Sobat Asri to create a greener Indonesia.

Aksi Asri Kreasi
#AksiAsri Kreasi is a sustainable community empowerment program by Chandra Asri Group through the Indonesia Asri campaign. This program is carried out by Sobat Asri with a focus on strengthening waste banks, increasing the capacity of local communities in circular economy-based waste management, and developing the habit of #wasteseparation to create agents of change towards a greener Indonesia.

Event Program
Date : November 2023 - February 2024
Location : RW 02 Pondok Labu, South Jakarta
Background
The Jakarta Governor Regulation (Pergub) No. 77 of 2020 on Waste Management at the Neighborhood (RW) Level encourages each RW in Jakarta to manage waste in its area, including waste reduction and handling. RW 02 Pondok Labu has 2 Waste Banks: Bank Sampah Sabtu Berkah and Bank Sampah PMB Berseri with 8 active administrators and 15–25 customers. The maximum number of customers is only 30 people from 11 RTs, which means there is still a large gap between active administrators and residents in practicing waste separation from home.
Responding to this condition, Chandra Asri Group, through the Indonesia Asri campaign, organized the #AksiAsri Kreasi 2023 activity, aimed at educating the community about the circular economy by applying the #wasteseparation habit before disposal, to create a Greener Indonesia.
The following are the exciting programs we implemented in #AksiAsri KREASI 2023:
- Ecoenzyme Workshop to teach the community how to process organic waste into valuable products
- Benchmarking visit to Bank Sampah Budi Luhur for hands-on learning on organizational and administrative management
- #SetorSampah Rewards Program to appreciate residents and encourage active participation in waste separation
Results:
- Increase in Waste Bank customers over the 4-month implementation period (November–February) compared to 4 months before implementation (July–October) was 50%
- Increase in waste volume deposited in Bank Sampah PMB Asri Berseri over the 4-month implementation period (November–February) compared to 4 months before implementation (July–October) was 25%
- Realization of residents’ awareness to maintain Gang Makmur Asri sustainably and utilize the produce from food plants
- Creation of community attachment to Indonesia Asri to participate in every subsequent #AksiAsri activity and expand publicity to attract more residents to join

Event Program
Date : September 2024 - February 2025
Location : SMAN 49 Jakarta
Background
According to the 2023 report by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), the amount of waste in Indonesia reached 19.56 million tons, with each individual contributing at least 0.6 kg of waste per day. Schools are one of the largest waste generators due to the large number of students engaged in various daily activities, including buying and selling, thus potentially producing high amounts of inorganic waste, food waste, and organic waste.
The current problem is that most waste management systems in schools are not yet well-organized. Poorly managed waste can cause environmental pollution, become a source of disease, and negatively affect students’ concentration. Although the theory of waste separation for cleanliness is widely promoted, the habit of waste separation among students at school has not yet been well established.
Therefore, we see the need for education and capacity building among students to develop awareness and the habit of #wasteseparation starting at school, so that they can become environmentally conscious pioneers who benefit their families and surroundings. This initiative is realized through the #AksiAsri KREASI Batch 2 program.
The following are the exciting programs we implemented in #AksiAsri KREASI 2024:
- Formation of the Bumi Asri team at school
- Comprehensive education on waste separation (3 sessions)
- #WasteSeparationChallenge
- Green Case Competition
- Ecoenzyme & Eco-Friendly Doll Workshop
- Educational Trip to Bank Sampah Sawo Kencana
Results:
- Waste management understanding increased by 37.92% and the habit of waste separation increased by 42.36%
- Total separated waste managed: ±155 kg within 3 months of waste separation habituation activities at school
- Formation of the Bumi Asri Waste Bank at SMAN 49 Jakarta with a management structure of 51 student administrators and 5 teacher supervisors as the center for waste management, recycling, and environmental education in the school
- Creation of student attachment to environmental programs to participate in every subsequent #AksiAsri activity and expand education to families and surrounding communities

Event Program
Date : August – September 2025
Location : Bank Sampah Teman Pilah, Bukit Duri, Jakarta Selatan
Background
Based on Jakarta Governor Regulation (Pergub) No. 77 of 2020 on Waste Management at the Neighborhood (RW) Level, each RW in Jakarta is encouraged to manage waste in its area, including waste reduction and handling. Indonesia faces significant challenges in waste management with continuously increasing waste production each year. Waste banks as community-based waste management solutions have great potential to provide positive impacts both economically and environmentally. However, many waste banks still require operational strengthening and increased community participation to operate optimally.
Bank Sampah Teman Pilah in the Bukit Duri area, South Jakarta, is one of the waste banks with high commitment to contribute to communal waste management with currently 60 active customers. However, like other waste banks, it still requires facility strengthening and increased community awareness to actively participate in household waste separation.
Responding to this condition, Chandra Asri Group through the Indonesia Asri campaign presents #AksiAsri Kreasi 2025 in collaboration with Bank Sampah Teman Pilah. This program aims to strengthen waste bank operations while encouraging community participation in waste management through waste bank facilities, creating a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment. We target at least 20% growth in community participation through this program.
The following are the exciting programs we implemented in #AksiAsri KREASI 2025 :
- Urban Farming Program with 10 planter bags
- Eco Enzyme Workshop for organic waste processing
- Waste separation socialization to residents
- Benchmarking visit to Bank Sampah Budi Luhur
Results:
- An increase of 15% in customers depositing inorganic waste at BS Teman Pilah in RW 05 Bukit Duri
- Successfully managed approximately ±1.076 kg of inorganic waste within one month of the waste-sorting habituation program in RW 05 Bukit Duri
- Establishment of an Inorganic Waste Bank at BS Teman Pilah Jakarta with an organizational structure of 18 active managers
- Created a strong commitment of BS Teman Pilahto environmental programs to participate in every subsequent #AksiAsri activity and expand education to families and surrounding communities
